In the Darkness I Pray

February 5, 2020

MORNING

I sit in darkness, waiting for the dawn.
In the darkness I pray.
I remember the saints, long ago and yesterday.
I pray for our family, and those who will suffer today.

I pray for our wounded church
And for those who serve and lead her.
I pray for those who govern our broken country.
And for our dying planet.

With the dawn the birds come
To the feeder just outside my window.
They say to me, “Abba hears you!
Peace.”

Bishop Wm. B. Grove wrote that recently. So much in there, even between the lines and between the words, where many live.

Let’s join “my breakfast friend Bill” (ask me about that sometime) and pray in the darkness together.

And then let’s work with and for the Light, as Christ Jesus calls himself in John 8:12.
