Approaching what I hope will be a super football game this Sunday, here’s another great line from Bum Phillips (if you don’t recognize the name, see my humble blog here from January 29) —-

“Two kinds of ballplayers aren’t worth a darn: one that never does what he’s told, and one who does nothin’ except what he’s told.”

You and I know those same two kinds of Christians: those that never do what they’re told, and the ones who do nothing except what they’re told.

There’s a reason United Methodists have been called “people of the middle way.” And it’s a good reason.
