Time for New Affirmations?
Been thinking recently about our Christian Affirmations of Faith.
Keep tripping over a clever and meaningful piece of word play that I think I first heard from Noah St. John —
Af-FORM-ations
— Really like that, don’t you?
Recognizes the way what we say influences our beliefs and understandings, and how they in turn shape our words and actions.
Our old friend St. Paul reminds us to “be transformed by the renewing of (our) minds” in Romans 12:2.
The aforementioned Affirmations and their ways of Af-form-ing us certainly do that.
May both our minds and our hearts be transformed today! What’s one way you can help that happen?
