You Can Always Walk Away
“Give me your heart, make it real,” sings Rob Thomas in a classic song with Carlos Santana and band.
But that’s not the end of that line of the song.
It’s not a command.
It’s an invitation
To a decision.
“Give me your heart, make it real…or else forget about it.”
In Matthew 19:16-21, Christ Jesus says essentially the same thing to a wealthy young person. It’s quite a scene.
As far as we know from the biblical account, that choice led to an eternity spent walking the dark halls of despair.
Same offer to you and me from that same Christ Jesus: “Give me your heart, make it real…or else forget about it.”
