“In Life, the Trick Is….”

Image may contain: 1 person, smiling, text that says '"Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he's been robbed. The fact is that most putts don't drop, most tough, most children grow up to just be people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is like an old time rail journey. smoke, dust, cinders and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling burst of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride." ~GORDON B. HINCKLEY'

Or, as Psalm 118:24 says, This is the day God’s given us, so let’s live it to the fullest! (RDSV)

    This is great.
Years (and years) ago, when my son was little, I babysat a couple other little boys. I noticed that I was always talking about problems with their moms, but never letting them know about the little joys along the way. So I started a bit of a journal about those moments. It sort of felt like mining the days for treasure. Then I shared those with the other moms at the end of the week.
It brought the joy into focus.
Man, I should do that more!

    1. That sounds very, very good! And I agree: you should do that more: bringing “the joy into focus” sounds excellent
