Waiting. And Waiting. And

Merciful God,
you sent your messengers the prophets
to preach repentance
and prepare the way for our salvation.
Give us grace to heed their warnings
and forsake our sins,
that we may greet with joy
the coming of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer;
who lives and reigns
with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen.

We’re waiting.

It happened.

And it shall happen.

He arrived once as a baby to save us, to be our Savior.

He shall arrive again to be revealed as Lord of all and everything.

We’re just in the in between time.

Waiting.

Sorta like watching way too many names fly by too fast onscreen during the credits of a film or an episode.

Sorta like that “schunka…schunka” sound when a vinyl LP needle is at the end of a side.

Sorta like idling at a red traffic light at 3am when you’re the only vehicle in any direction.

We’re waiting.
