G.E.D Living, part 7

June 24, 2018

Someone, and I’m embarrassed to admit I’m not sure who it was, sent me a list of simple, practical things to do. With gratitude to that anonymous source, here’s something you and I can do to practice what I’m calling God’s Earth Day (G.E.D.) Living —

Quick Review: Let the sun shine in. Open the curtains, raise the blinds, and spend time in rooms that get natural light. Turn off lights you’re not using. Leave a room, hit the switch! Don’t forget outdoor lights.

7. Run full dishwashers and washing machines. For extra laundry savings, use the cold cycle.

And here’s what Christ Jesus says along these lines:

When Jesus had finished speaking, a Pharisee invited him to eat with him; so he went in and reclined at the table. But the Pharisee was surprised when he noticed that Jesus did not first wash in proper ceremonial fashion before the meal. Then the LORD said to him, “Now then, you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness. You foolish people! Did not the one who made the outside make the inside also? But now as for what is inside you-be generous to the poor, and everything will be clean for you. (— Luke 11:37-41)

I dunno about you, I’ll bet this comes back to me, like even the next time I just wash my hands….
