It Endures Forever
God’s love endures forever, says Psalm 136.
It says that several times.
When the Hebrews wanted to emphasize something in their poetry, they couldn’t slide their cursor up to the large “B” and make it bold. They couldn’t hit that slanted letter “I” and italicize it. They couldn’t just swipe over it and highlight it in yellow.
So they repeated something to emphasize it.
So they repeated something to emphasize it.
So they repeated and yeah you get the idea.
God’s love endures forever, says Psalm 136.
They repeated that phrase 26 times in this one Psalm.
They repeated God’s love endures forever 26 times, as the second line of every verse, in that one Psalm.
And right there you and I just learned literally half of Psalm 136: God’s love endures forever.
I’m still celebrating the constancy of God today, how about you?
