Great Missions Committee Idea

Watseka, IL has a United Methodist Church it was my honor to serve several years ago. This is just one example of what they’ve recently done —- 

The Missions Committee is hosting a “Skills To Get The Job” workshop on Sunday, [date], from 2 – 4:30 in our church’s fellowship hall.

Ashley Cxxxxx, Kim Oxxxxx, and Barb Sxxxxx will present information on paper/online application process, interviewing, resumes and other topics that are important in applying for jobs in our area.

The workshop is open to all interested adults and is free!  Snacks will be served during the workshop. Please pass the word!!!

— Seems to me they’re sure trying to meet the needs of their community.

Maybe other churches could adopt/adapt this, maybe even offer it off-site in a non-church setting as well.

Maybe this will get you thinking. Maybe you could share an idea for the rest of us to pick up on.
