Everything, All the Time
“Be still and know that I am God,” says Psalm 46:10.
Pretty much not subtle, is it?
You and I live in an era when we’re increasingly encouraged to share our every experience, every event, every thought, every feeling, every reaction, our every everything.
And we can do all of that in an ever-increasing variety of ways.
On multiple platforms.
Simultaneously.
But our self-focused cameras get knocked out of our hands with this: “Be still and know that I am God.”
Let’s start finding a way to do that.
“Everything, all the time” isn’t just a line from an old song by The Eagles; it’s a condition for too many of us.
“Be still and know that I am God” is a corrective, healthy prescription.
In the midst of everything else…and because of everything else: “Be still and know that I am God.”
Amen!
