Noise
Make a joyful noise, says Psalm 100:1.
Great opening! Lotsa freedom there!
Clear your throat!
I’ll crank everything on my guitar amp all the way up to 10!
But wait.
Make a joyful noise is only the beginning of that verse.
It goes on to say, Make a joyful noise to the Lord.
Pop Quiz, one question:
What kind of noise are you making to the Lord?
Oops.
Some of us have been making whiny noises to the Lord, griping about nothing.
Today, let’s notice if our noises to the Lord are really joyful.
Or something else.
See you back here tomorrow.
Meanwhile: Make a joyful noise to the Lord!
Are the “thankful for Him” prayers enough of a joyful noise. I am afraid to even throw out the other prayers anymore. I remember, at camp, singing “Seek and ye shall find, Knock and the door will be opened, Ask and it shall be given…” all those years ago.
