What We Have to Be

December 11, 2016

“What we have to be is what we already are,” wrote 20th century Roman Catholic monk Thomas Merton.

He also explained elsewhere that an apple doesn’t become an apple by grimacing and trying harder to be apple. An apple, he said, just grows to be what God intended it to be.

Where will you go today to remember who you are at your God-given core?

“What we have to be is what we already are.”

Who will help you learn more about this today?

“What we have to be is what we already are.”

What will you do today about those things stopping you?

“What we have to be is what we already are.”
