Several have asked what I read for inspiration and formation.
Hearing those as serious questions and happy to let you in on some of what’s been shaping me recently.
Jane Marie Thibault writes on page 29 of the devotional book Disciplines 2016 —
Dear God, I am often tempted to envy the spiritual gifts of others. When I do that, I downplay and neglect the gifts that you have given me.
Help me realize that you don’t give your gifts for our benefit but for the building up of the body of Christ.
May I acknowledge that you are the one doing the work when I participate with you in using my gifts. Amen.
