Real Life
Your old life is dead.
Your new life, which is your real life
—even though invisible to spectators—
is with Christ in God.
— St. Paul, Colossians 3:3
He calls us to move in one direction.
Continuing from where we were last weekend, St. Paul calls us forward.
For many Christians in many churches, this is The First Weekend of Advent. It’s the start of our annual remembering of the promises of God to send a Savior.
Traditionally, it’s the start of the season of getting ready for Christmas.
Colossians 3:3 reminds us of the whole point of it all. It’s not just about a baby in a manger, it’s about salvation and life.
Make time this weekend to join with other Christians and remember: “Your old life is dead. Your new life, which is your real life—even though invisible to spectators—is with Christ in God.” (Colossians 3:3)
Let’s get busy living into this new, real life.
Real life is found by living forward in Christ.
