Before You Complain

September 12, 2015

Thanks to my long-time friend and colleague who’s so much more, The Rev. John T. Vidakovich, for this picture.

And for getting me thinking.

Scripture says, Each person should use whatever gift she or he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.  (— 1 Peter 4:10)

Before you and I join The Gripe Group next time, let’s stop and quickly evaluate what we’re doing to make things better.

We have that responsibility; we’re blessed to be a blessing; and we can do our part in faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.

I may complain about the cliff, but I hate it when others only see my shortcomings. My friends and neighbors all know that I will drop everything, at a moment’s notice, to be there for them! My gifts of listening, having a car for those who don’t, and my grief and bereavement support inclinations belong to others, not me.
