You’re Needed Here

September 7, 2015

A friend recently shared this picture. No idea where he found it.

But I sure know the feeling, and maybe you do, too —

That’s being caught in a spot worse than the old “rock and a hard place” phrase puts it!

If that’s where you are today, don’t jump.

Please don’t jump.

Come on back.

Tell somebody what’s going on with you.

You’re worth the effort.

We want you with us.

You’re needed here.

I am not going to jump, but I have been hanging here of late! There are just days (too many of late) that I don’t see any light at the end of this tunnel. I am scraping by, but I have that well negotiated ($357 ticket for $225 – yes, round trip) to Massachusetts, The Cape in just 15 days, where a good childhood friend lives in her ancestors’ home, left to her by her grandmother. She built a place on the property for her mother and her sister followed and bought (or built, not sure) a home down the road. She was a year behind me in school and as a caveat, my father sold real estate on the side when I was growing up, and her late-father and late-grandfather were my father’s bosses. That is the joy that will pull me back for a couple of weeks. I am soooo excited. Here lately, in my situation, the ledge is my zen space. I won’t jump, but all effort is appreciated, most of the time it is VERY lonely. I have been devoid of much human contact a great deal the past few months.

Thanks for this. Until I saw this picture, I couldn’t describe how I feel to anyone!
