Think Back on The Present
Teach us to number our days.
— Psalm 90:12
Today is my mom’s 103rd birthday, and I’m as amazed as you are at that fact.
Last evening in our Disciple 2 Bible Study, Bill asked this provocative question from the Leader’s Guide —
What difference would it make in our lives
if we learned to think back on the present
from the perspective of the last things in our lives?
I immediately coupled that question with one of Stephen Covey’s classic 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, specifically Begin with The End in Mind, and I’m still reeling this morning.
Wherever you are on your journey of life, I invite you take a moment and let Bill’s question and Covey’s Habit color and shape at least part of your plans for today.
Think long term.
Like Psalm 92 says, Teach us to number our days. Realize the significance of today.
After all, as a classic song says, “There’s still time to change the road you’re on.”
Pretty good way to celebrate my mom’s 103rd birthday.
Wish I had gotten to this blog on Wednesday! Hopefully I didn’t miss the celebration though! You are as blessed as she!
