Christ Clapping

June 9, 2015

“A thief is only there

to steal and kill and destroy,”

he said.

“I came so they can have

real and eternal life,

more and better life

than they ever dreamed of.”

 — John 10:10, The Message Version

“You need to know that I have other sheep in addition to those in this pen, ” says The Good Shepherd Jesus in John 10:16.

I’m a United Methodist Christian. You may well be some other denomination, or even not part of any such thing.

When are we going to realize we’re on the same team?

More importantly, when are we going to act like we are?

“I have other sheep,” says our Gate and Good Shepherd, who “also recognize my voice.” (John 10:16)

John Wesley, credited with founding The Methodist movement, was of the attitude that if our hearts agree in Christ then we should be working together for Christ’s Kingdom.

Hear that? It’s Christ clapping.

He sure is!! I think I wrote that joke about the groups in heaven in the past two weeks so won’t repeat it here. However, as most days, that chorus from that camp song is going through my mind—“We are one in the Spirit, We are one in the Lord. We are one in the Spirit, We are one in the Lord. And we PRAY that our UNITY may one day be RESTORED…” Only song I ever knew how to play on the guitar! It is a staple for me.
