So Christ Tried Again
“A thief is only there
to steal and kill and destroy,”
he said.
“I came so they can have
real and eternal life,
more and better life
than they ever dreamed of.”
— John 10:10, The Message Version
“So he tried again,” says John 10:7.
(We’re spending several days together camped out in John 10:1-18. If you haven’t read it yet, here’s a link: www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John+10%3A1-18&version=MSG)
Jesus had told a story, but his listeners missed the point. “So he tried again,” says John 10:7.
Aren’t you glad that Christ keeps trying with us?
Today, take a moment and glance back over your life, even over just this past week, and see ways that God’s tried again.
And be thankful!
I have been going through years of boxes. Some of it research, some sentimental, some my own writings (published and non-published), some just trash I haven’t been able to part with until now. There there are the fun pictures that somehow got filed instead of their righteous place in one of the family albums. The other day I pulled out several years old photos of the two cats that have gone ahead of us. Fred was his on enigma and Phoenix was as annoying as loveable and then, from out between these photos fell out from between the others, one from many, many years back (I know you don’t want to remember how many and you were only two years ahead of me in school), It is a photo that never changed in all the years I went there, Inspiration Point at Little Grassy. Looking at a cross always reminds me He works at this relationship much harder than I do sometimes. It also reminds me of where that relationship became more real that what I had been learning in Sunday school the previous 13 years. Thankful doesn’t begin to cover it!
