Hear That?

Earlier in our time here of thinking together about John 10:1-18, I mentioned ID cards. They’re one way we prove who we are, in a variety of settings, to people who might not recognize us.

Christ Jesus, who will ID himself as The Good Shepherd in John 10:11, says that his sheep recognize his voice. (John 10:4)

Patty and I don’t have sheep in our yard, but we have a four year old puppy named Martin in our home. He never fails to recognize our voices.

Whether or not Martin responds appropriately to our voices is another matter…just like you and I do with God’s messages to us….

“Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your heart,” advises Hebrews 3:15.
