Nepal is Close to Home When a Friend’s in an Earthquake There
UPDATE: GREAT NEWS!!! I just received word that the U.S. Embassy called the Ascolani family to confirm that Corey and the remaining 22 or so hikers at Bamboo Village have been rescued. He was reported to be in route to the Embassy in Kathmandu. This was a long process for Corey and the Ascolani family, so thank you for allowing me to share their story and for those who offered prayer and support.
The overall situation in Nepal is very grave, and the people there really need our prayers. I am sure we also have other citizens still trapped there as well. We live in a digital world now but, candidly, I often find myself in my own bubble. This is especially true when there is a problem like this thousands of miles away. Knowing an individual who is inserted into a situation like this makes a really big world seem personal again. And isn’t that what he world should be about-building relationships one person at a time? Isn’t that what Christ does for each of us?
Please keep Nepal in your prayers. If so inclined, I also know my friend Joe Scheets would tell you a good place to donate would be through UMCOR Advance # 982450.
Thank you for indulging on this issue, and God Bless!
