At Least Three
Before it started, someone turned on the lights, checked the temperature of the room and moved that chair over there just a little bit so it looks right. Someone else came in and did other things you and I might never notice…until they weren’t done.
After it was over, someone picked up what others had left and gotten the space ready for the next time.
Was it a meeting, or a game, or a worship service, or something else completely?
Whatever it was, there was work done before the rest of us arrived and after we’d left.
I’ll credit Fred Craddock with this line: “Blessed are those who clean up afterward, though they go unnoticed.”
It’s time the rest of us noticed and appreciated those who do innumerable behind-the-scenes tasks to make the splashy tasks easier.
You and I can name some of those people. Today, let’s thank at least three.
