It Does, so Let’s Do

This is the day

which the Lord hath made;

we will rejoice

and be glad in it.

A newer translation: This day belongs to the Lord!  Let’s celebrate and be glad today. (The American Bible Society’s own Contemporary English Version)

This Scripture was waaaaaaaay ahead of the rest of us in understanding the significance of “one day at a time” and “it’s called the present because it’s a gift.”

This second version of Psalm 118:24 sounds like a lesson in stewardship: This day belongs to the Lord!

And then our responsibility becomes really juicy: Let’s celebrate and be glad today.

It’s not just a Call to Worship; it’s an Invitation to Life: This day belongs to the Lord!  Let’s celebrate and be glad today.
