Problem with The Church’s Riding Mower

The church’s riding mower stopped running.  I was no longer cutting grass.

I’m not the most mechanical person you’ll ever meet, but even I knew something was wrong.

After an exhaustive diagnosis — which means I walked around the mower, then raised the hood and stared at the engine while shaking my head, and finally looked at the gauge beneath the seat — I saw the problem.

The mower was out of gas.

Too may Christians are like that mower.  Jesus says, You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you.  (Acts 1:8)

Getting the mower re-fueled was worth the time and energy it took, and so is getting our hearts & minds & lives re-fueled.
