Spiritual AND Religious
“Be both spiritual and religious,” said our guest preacher in the sermon at our Annual Conference’s Ordination Service.
Our cultural trend is toward “spiritual but not religious.” There are books and seminars addressing that movement.
But our newest pastors were advised to be both “spiritual and religious,” and the rest of us were allowed to eavesdrop.
I really like this linking of the two together.
Christ Jesus is an example of someone being “spiritual and religious.” And if you and I are called to imitate Christ….
