That’s Easy, Until

That’s from a devotional book’s entry for today, based on Matthew 5:38-42.  If you’re like me and don’t quite have that memorized yet, grab a Bible or simple Google that passage.  You’ll see where the author got the idea for that phrase.

Interpret the law within the context of love is easy to say.

Interpret the law within the context of love.  Like people used to say on an ancient tv show, “It’s got a good beat and you can dance to it.”

But doing what that phrase says is anything but easy.  Interpret the law within the context of love is a great idea until somebody does something to upset or offend us.  Then it gets tricky and messy.

Join me today in praying for patience and for God’s own Holy Spirit to help us Interpret the law within the context of love.
