More Than a Presidential Inauguration

Every four years during this month in our country, we have a Presidential Inauguration.

A Presidential Inauguration is far from a random, thrown-together event where anything that might happen is good enough.  Our Presidential Inaugurations are carefully orchestrated, and every moment is a well thought out act of significance.

It’s a big deal.

The word that we know as “inaugurate” only appears in The New Testament twice.  One is here —

God, who started a great work in you,

will keep at it

and bring it to a flourishing finish

on the very day Christ Jesus appears.

That’s Philippians 1:6.  God “inaugurated” a great work in you, Scripture says.

In other words, today’s a big deal.  You’re involved in a things of great significance today, because God is at work in you.
