Again I Say
O come,
all ye faithful,
joyful
— that Christmas Carol
For some, this is The Third Day of The Christmas Season.
Back on The Third Sunday of Advent, many churches lighted the one pink candle amid the three purple ones in their Advent Wreath. That lighter colored candle is called The Candle of Joy.
This song invites us to come to Bethlehem, to come and behold the newborn Messiah, with faith and joy.
Not fear; joy.
Not confusion; joy.
Not apathy; joy.
Years after that Bethlehem birth, St. Paul would write and tell us to “Rejoice in the Lord always.” (Philippians 4:4)
As you and I move from Christmas into this weekend, may we be found faithful and joyful.
What does that look like and feel like to you today?
What changes do you need to make to become more faithful and more joyful?
It’s apparently not a one-time thing…the rest of the Bible verse continues like this: “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say rejoice.”
Again.
