Slow Degrees
“Every one,
though born of God in an instant,
yet undoubtedly grows by slow degrees.”
— John Wesley
It’s already the 17th day of Advent, that time of getting ready for celebrating the Nativity. A week from today is Christmas Eve.
It’s also a season of anticipating Christ’s return. We don’t know when, but we know Who.
This past weekend was the third one of Advent. In churches that use an Advent wreath, most lighted the pink candle as a symbol of Joy.
Given all of that, a serious question: what do you see as evidence that you’re growing spiritually in this season of the Gospel?
Mr. Wesley would remind us that we all grow by slow degrees. In other words, little stuff adds up.
My answer involves The Advent Conspiracy. See you back here tomorrow with more about that.
Meanwhile, how do you answer this — what do you see as evidence that you’re growing spiritually in this season of the Gospel?
