People Will Be Judging You
“Remember — you’ll be at church. People will be judging you,” said a character years ago on the tv show Desperate Housewives.
As you sit there in church, are you evaluating the other people?
Are you worried that they’re looking at you the same way?
By the grace of God, we can do better.
Goes back MANY years, decades really, and I feel eyes, that may or may be judging! This is especially when I go back to the church where I grew up. (The truth is they know only perceptions of another.) I haven’t been back for a Sunday service since the move. With the exception of the bereaved (whom I am there for anywy) I am uncomfortable at funerals with some that go back to being young adults when I was a teen, verbally “delighted to see me”, but the eyes don’t match and feel like lasers when I turn and walk away. Could all be in my mind, but most likely not. I left for a different reason and this wasn’t an issue I knew of. Am I beginning to rambling off-topic yet?
