Your God is Too Small: A Prayer for All Day
New every morning is your love, great God of light,
and all day long you are working for good in the world.
Stir up in us desire to serve you,
to live peacefully with our neighbors,
and to devote each day to your Son,
our Savior, Jesus Christ the Lord. Amen.

Your God is too small.
I really should have written that like this: Your God is Too Small.
Actually, that should be like this: Your God is Too Small, because it’s a book title.
Your God is Too Small was one of the books we read in a course I took as an exchange student at The Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. It’s by J. B. Philips and it’s tremendous.
Your God is Too Small amplifies what’s expressed throughout both Testaments, for example Psalm 8’s “When I consider all that You have created, who am I that You would even notice me? And yet You have.”
Such a great God is beyond comprehension but worthy of worship.
Join me in this prayer that starts, New every morning is your love, great God.
