A Morning Prayer for All Day

New every morning is your love, great God of light,

and all day long you are working for good in the world.

Stir up in us desire to serve you,

to live peacefully with our neighbors,

and to devote each day to your Son,

our Savior, Jesus Christ the Lord.  Amen.

I’m pretty much blown away by the prayers tucked in amidst the songs in this hymnal.  They’re from a variety of times and places and are all helpful in expressing what I sometimes have trouble saying.

This one is from a brief section in the back of the book called “An Order for Morning Praise and Prayer.”  We’re going to spend some time with it, its message and implications.
