Not on a Donkey This Weekend
“Nearly all the people in the crowd
threw their garments down on the road,
giving (Jesus) a royal welcome.”
—Matthew 21:8, The Message version
The Bible says that in addition to palm branches, people took off their coats and placed them in the path of Christ and the animal he was riding into Jerusalem. This was an accepted way to show respect for the arrival of someone of high honor.
That was then and this is now. He’s not riding in on a donkey this weekend, but we still want to show that same joy and respect.
What could we do?
Come to worship even if there is a snow warning!
