Carson is a Flyer

“Carson is a Flyer, but she couldn’t do that without her base.”

So said Debbie, and it’s with her permission that I tell this cheerleading story.

In this week’s Children’s Sermon, she wowed us with stories about her daughter Carson.  Carson is not just geting up on top of a cheer pyramid, Debbie said, but has specific routines and positions up there.

Carson also does flips and other moves.

In mid-air.

Way up high.

Without a net.

“The only way she can do any of that is because of the three girls holding her, tossing her and catching her.  They’re called The Base.

“She needs a really good Base if he’s gonna fly high.  She needs to be able to count on those three.

“So do you and I.  And we have our Base in God, our church family and our faith.”
