Who Again Did Miss Lois Say is Good?

Romper Room was a tv show where Miss Lois taught us pre-schoolers lots of stuff.

In the Romper Room mix was the first prayer I ever learned.

It began, “God is great.”

Then, “God is good.”

Miss Lois confirmed what my parents and my Sunday School teachers were telling me about God, and in a real simple and understandable way: “God is good.”

Lots of things were scary when we were younger.  But we were still learning that in the midst of it all, “God is good.”

There are still perplexing, frightening elements to our lives today.  But those words are still true: “God is good.”

Let’s remind ourselves of that, especially when we hit a rough stretch of life: “God is good.”
