Your Prayers are Needed

January 8, 2013

“When you pray….”

—Christ Jesus, in Luke 11:2

The first promise United Methodist Christians make to one another is to pray for each other.

The question is, “By the grace of God given you, will you uphold this congregation of The United Methodist Church with your prayers…?”  And the answer is, “I will.”

It’s not optional.

Jesus did not say, “Oh, and by the way, uhm, I know you’re pretty busy, but if you could maybe find just a moment, here or there and you know, think about praying then, that’d be a great idea.”

Jesus did say, “When you pray….”

Not “If you pray, ” but “When you pray….”

Right now’s a good time, so who all have you promised to keep in your prayers?

Let’s go.  Time to get busy praying.
