Advent = Comings
There are 3 Comings.
Our United Methodist Book of Worship gives us three emphases for the four weeks in this Advent season:
Christ’s coming in human form on that first Christmas long ago
Christ’s coming to us continually in Word and Spirit now
Christ’s victorious coming again in the future.
We live in that second time frame, when Christ comes to us “continually in Word and Spirit now.”
What would help us to notice those continual Comings of Christ today? I’d love to hear from you about this.
