You, Right Here in Front of Me

October 7, 2012

“The Lord is (…)you.”—Psalm 23:1, 4

It’s Sunday morning as I post this blog.

Good time to notice a major shift in traditional translations of Psalm 23.

The first three verses talk about God.

Verses 4 and 5 talk with God.

Or, as we learned in English classes, it shifts from third person to second person, from “that one over there” to “you, right here in front of me.”

That change is a good clue for us today.

Time to go from talking about to God to talking with God.

Rick Warren has a very interesting thought. “Father, if this problem, pain, sickness, orcircumstance is needed to fulfill your purpose and glory in my life or in another life-Please don’t take it away.” This was connected to genuine surrender thought. Another thing to think about is,” When I try to be God, I end up being most like Satan-for he also desired the same thing.” I am reading Rick Warren at the present. I view these statements as talking with God.
