Letter to The Church’s Shareholders
Complaining about churches is easy. That’s one reason so many people like do it.
By the grace of God, the complainers do not get the last word.
God does.
Our Lord is in the New Life business. The Bible is filled with messages like “new every morning is Your love, O God” (Lamentations 3). It gives us images like green growth and doves and rainbows (Genesis 8 & 9) and a valley of bones dancing in reconstruction (Ezekiel 37). Above all else is The Empty Tomb, in all 4 Gospel accounts, of the Resurrected Christ.
All of that applies to Christ’s Holy Church as well.
Looking again at yesterday’s opening here,
From the Letter to Shareholders in an April 2012 investment Prospectus—
“There are lots of good reasons to be pessimistic
about the macroeconomic environment.
“But just as Lenin noted that history moves in violent shifts,
so too does the stock market.
“Eventually the global investment community will remember (as it always does)
that there are companies creating massive economic benefits f
or their customers, employees, shareholders, and societies at large.
“I won’t go on record predicting WHEN that epiphany will occur,
but now more than ever we remain focused….”
That applies to The Church as well. More about that tomorrow.
For right now, think with me about signs of God’s gift of New Life that are all around you. Notice them today. Feel free to leave a comment here about what they are.
See you back here tomorrow.
