Practice Much? — 2nd in a 3 part series

September 8, 2012

“Practice much?” asked my trumpet teacher.  “If you don’t practice between lessons, there’s not much point in this.”

That painful moment comes back to haunt me now and then.

Sometimes it happens in a worship service.  Other times it’s when I’m trying to read my Bible or a devotional guide.  The worst is when I try to start to pray but everything’s jumbled up.

If we don’t practice things like reading Scripture and praying during the week, there’s not much point in the price Christ paid for our salvation.   And those are just the warm-ups for living as Christians.

God wants a relationship with us.  Like any other relationship, it can take time and attention on our part.

Looking back over the past week, how do you honestly answer God’s question: “Practice much?”

Still time today to get in some good practice.
