“Collaborative Christianity”—7th in a series on Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes
Do not be like the people of this world, but have a new mind.
Then you will prove for yourselves what God wants you to do.
That will be good. It will please God. And it will be all right.
—Romans 12:2, Worldwide English (New Testament) (WE)
An elderly saint who called me Pastor liked to point out that “Even the Lone Ranger had Tonto.”
St. Paul would laugh and agree, once we explained the reference to him.
Notice the second line of the Romans 12:2 here, as found in the WE version (yup, the WE version): “…you will prove for yourselves what God wants you to do.”
That’s plural. Not just you or me, but you and me, together and with others.
We call that Church, and Sunday School, and Small Group.
“Even the Lone Ranger had Tonto.”
Who all do you have?
