Everybody Looks Good at The Starting Line
As we step into this new Season of The Gospel called Lent, let’s consider this together —
“Everybody looks good at the starting line, but going the distance is the hard part,” a Paul Thorn song says.
St. Paul would agree with that perspective: I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, he wrote in 2nd Timothy 4:7.
Where are you in the distance between the start and finish lines of your life and of your faith —
Still fighting the good fight today?
Still running your race today?
Now and then it’s good to remember it’s more of a marathon than a sprint.
Probably right about now would be just such a time for you and me.
And if you’re not at your best today, remember that “Everybody looks good at the starting line, but going the distance is the hard part.”
By the grace of God, let’s have a Holy Lent.
Amen?
