Tomorrow. Not Kidding.
“Tomorrow is in good hands,” reads the copy at the top of the ad. It’s a full page color ad on the back cover of a leading international magazine this week.
I wish our United Methodist Church emblem was on the ad.
I wish we had that same confidence in our official proclamations.
I wish…well, I wish a lotta things.
I wish our local churches had that same faith.
I wish our pastors, and yes this is a first-person-plural moment, had that same stance.
We do now and then.
But consistently?
Hmmmm. Blushing in frustration.
And in case you’re wondering: the ad that leads with “Tomorrow is in good hands” is for a wrist watch.
Not kidding.
