Now, 10 Years & 1 Day & 3,397 of These Later
After 10 years and 1 day together here on my humble devotional blog site — and again I thank you! — there’s a Bible verse that’s more resonant than ever.
A Bible Study Group and I looked at 1st Chronicles 29:13 earlier this week —
Now, our God, we give you thanks and praise your glorious name.
— When? Now. Not yesterday, not tomorrow, not in an hour. Now.
Who? Our God. Not anyone or anything else. And not just me, and not just you, but us together. And there are so many more of us we have yet to meet, all of us doing this together. With the focus on our God.
What? We give you thanks. We don’t come waving our shopping list of requests. Like an old song says, “Count your blessings, name them one by one…and it will surprise you what the Lord has done.” Like I’ve been accused to saying more than once, “There really is so much to celebrate!”
What else? And praise your glorious name. Even just God’s very name…imagine that!
Here’s to my hope that in some small way my work here has seasoned your life and your faith with what’s behind 1st Chronicles 29:13.
By the grace of God, let’s keep moving forward together!
