Wait, Me, “Sanctified?”

September 29, 2021

Let’s review.

First Corinthians 1:2 addresses all that follows to

Those sanctified in Christ Jesus,

called to be saints together

with all those who in every place

call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

both their Lord and ours

Don’t let that word sanctified scare you.

It means “set apart to be” or “consecrated to be” or “declared to be” a certain way.

And the early Methodists enjoyed and talked about and sang about and lived that certain way.

They rightly called it The Way of Holiness.

“Wait, Joe…me, sanctified and holy…you’re kidding right?”

Nope.

“But I’m not there yet!”

Me neither.

But by the grace of God, we’ve been declared such by God’s amazing grace.

Time for us to live into more of that!

See you back here tomorrow.

For now, join me in praying for the guidance and the direction and the power that comes with being in the process of being made ever more sanctified.

Good stuff!
