Lying

“What is the cost of lies?”

That’s the simple question asked at the beginning of Chernobyl.

After five episodes, the conclusion is a one word answer: everything.

“Honesty is a gift we can give to others,” says Sam Harris in his book, Lying.

“It is also a source of power and an engine of simplicity.

“Knowing that we will attempt to tell the truth, whatever the circumstances, leaves us with little to prepare for.”

He concludes, “We can simply be ourselves.”

Christ Jesus put it this way —-

You will experience the truth

for yourselves,

and the truth will set you free.

(John 8:32)
