Pay Attention & Learn

September 7, 2021

Pay attention to your teacher and learn all you can.

Proverbs 23:12, the Good News Translation

Remember those kids in school who talked a lot? And usually to each other? During class?

Yeah, I’ll admit to being in that group.

And in fabulous company, I might add: Joey, who had double-jointed fingers and a great laugh…Tom, who looked and acted, presumably unintentionally, like characters we’d later learn were called nebish in Yiddish…Rich, who was a Mensa Man even in like 4th grade and would later work for the U.S. Government…and a few other rotating members of the cast.

We did just about anything we could to not pay attention.

Somehow we still were able to learn all we could.

Somewhere along the way we caught on to the wisdom of Proverbs 23:12.

Which gave rise to what’s now called Being a Life Long Learner.

I’ve still got a long way to go. You, too?
