What Are You Planting?
“We are not called to do great things today,” United Methodist Bishop Ken Carter wrote.
He’s referencing both Christ Jesus in Mark 4:30-34 and Mother Teresa.
Jesus spoke about a tiny seed —
How can we picture God’s kingdom? What kind of story can we use? It’s like an acorn. When it lands on the ground it is quite small as seeds go, yet once it is planted it grows into a huge oak tree with thick branches. Eagles nest in it.”
— Mother Teresa’s often-quoted line is, “Do small things with great love.”
The Bishop rolled those together and concluded that you and I “are called to plant small seeds.”
So: What exactly are you planting today?
