Breathe In, Breathe Out
Breathe on me, Breath of God
Fill me with life, anew
Those are lines from a classic hymn that have taken on new meaning in our current pandemic.
In both our Old and New Testaments, both in their Hebrew and Greek languages, the basic words for “breath” and “spirit” are synonyms.
Next time you take a big gulp of air and hold your breath, or yawn, or sneeze or…yeah…to rip a phrase out of its Scriptural context, “think on these things” (Philippians 4:8).
I look forward to hearing from you about any of this, any of the usual ways.
