These Sentences Really Do Go Together.

December 29, 2020

“The truth is that each of us is important and unique.

“I have God-given talents the whole universe depends on for my sharing.

“God has destined us not for wrath but for salvation through Jesus Christ.”

Loretta Ross-Gotta wrote those consecutive sentences on page 382 of Disciplines 2020. Here’s what comes next —

“Do not let fear impede the full release of your gifts or hobble your service to Christ.

“Christ’s victory on the cross destroyed the demon of fear; you can stand forgiven and reconciled.

“Whatever happens, this God of ours will not say to you, ‘Whatever….’

“You are loved with a love that will not let you go.”

— For today: which one of those lines resonates most with you, for better or for worse? That is, which one of her sentences here comforts you or challenges you? Live with that one today.

As always, I’d love to hear from you in any of the usual ways, and I’ll see you back here tomorrow.
